lyrics

(Spoken)
We were watching the movie Philadelphia
I know the one where Tom Hanks contracts
and with the help of Denzel Washington
sues the company that i know wrongfully fires him
Well halfway through the movie and halfway though a bottle of wine
my dad pips up and said
"Hey do you think AIDS is a plague sent by god to kill off all the gay people?"
and I looked that my mother, who you may remember just found out I was in fart one if these gay people
and I said to her under my breath
"Hope not"

(Singing)
And asked me the question
"Are you gay in your dreams
and whats with all the dancing?
Why do you talk like that?"

And asked me the question
"Who's the mans?" x 3

And asked me the question
"Is saying the N word like say the word Faggot?
What kinda baby you gonna adopt?
So you just gotta work in topman for the rest of your life is that it?"

And asked me the question
"Who's the mans?" x 3

(Spoken)
and I said "Well we both are that kinda the definition"
and he said "No no no no no no no no no no no no... Who's the man?"
and was just sitting there thinking "God he really don't get it"
and then it dawned on me
The question my father was really asking
and I had the answer all locked and loaded
I was ready to say
"Well its a 50/50 give a take relationship is what I got going there you know what I mean?"
But I looked into my fathers eyes and realised
Hmmmm that not the right answer to this question
so I lied
So I said quiet calmly
"I'm the man"

Yes I'm the man
Yes I'm the man
I'm the man

And what did he says?
I'll tell you
He said

"Good good good good good good good."
